Scope of work
Assessment of the feasibility of changing the use of office space to a school facility in the Atrium Plaza building, covering several floors with differing floor slab structures.

Project description

The project concerns the Atrium Plaza office building in Warsaw, where a change of use is planned for selected office floors, converting them into school space.

The work carried out by KMT included the preparation of three separate technical expert opinions addressing different floor slabs within the building. Each opinion compared the permissible floor slab loads originally adopted under the PN-B standards with the requirements of the currently applicable PN-EN standards, taking into account the modified live loads resulting from the new, educational use of the space.

For one of the floor slabs, an additional separate technical expert opinion was prepared to verify its load-bearing capacity with regard to the new load generated by a planned modular partition wall. Each of the opinions was based on archival documentation, the architectural design for the space layout, and the applicable design standards.
