Structural calculations for the aluminium and glass facade.
Project description
The Oriel is a modern ophthalmology centre located in the heart of London, dedicated to both specialist research and patient care. As part of the project, KMT carried out engineering calculations for a portion of the building's facade. The scope of work included verification of the aluminium load-bearing facade structure along with its fixing and connection system, as well as assessment of facade elements comprising insulated glass units and aluminium panels. Numerical analyses were performed in the Dlubal RFEM environment, using bar, surface, and solid models tailored to the nature of the individual structural elements.
